About TB-500
TB-500 is the synthetic fragment corresponding to the actin-binding domain of thymosin beta-4, the 43-residue parent protein. The fragment retains the actin-sequestering motif that drives the parent molecule's effects on cell migration and is far cheaper to synthesise at scale than the full protein, which is why almost all published fragment work uses it.
The research literature centres on cell migration and differentiation — actin sequestration modulates the monomer pool available for polymerisation, which in turn governs how readily a cell can remodel its cytoskeleton and move. Endothelial migration assays and myocyte models are the common experimental settings. Note that TB-500 and full-length thymosin beta-4 are not the same reagent and results are not directly transferable; we sell the fragment and label it as such rather than blurring the distinction the way some suppliers do.
