Research Use Only: What the Designation Actually Requires

Research use only material is intended for laboratory investigation. It is not a drug, it is not a supplement, and it is not intended for diagnostic use, human consumption, or veterinary administration. No product on this site has been evaluated by the FDA for safety or efficacy, and nothing we publish should be read as suggesting a product diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any condition.

That constraint is why our product pages describe mechanisms, published research areas and physical properties, and never describe dosing, administration or outcomes. Where the literature reports a receptor interaction, we say so and cite where. Where a reader might expect a recommendation, they will not find one — not because we are being coy, but because making one would place the product in a different regulatory category than the one it is manufactured and sold under.

Certus Peptides is a research chemical supplier. We are not a 503A compounding pharmacy and not a 503B outsourcing facility, and we do not hold ourselves out as either. Those are distinct regulatory categories with distinct requirements, oversight and permitted activities.

What we do is manufacture to documented protocols, test every lot through accredited independent laboratories, and publish the results in full. That is a meaningful quality commitment and it is a different thing from pharmacy compounding. Suppliers who blur the two are describing a status they do not hold.

By ordering, you confirm that you are a qualified researcher or an institution purchasing for legitimate research, that the material will be used only in a laboratory setting by or under the supervision of someone qualified to handle it, and that you accept responsibility for compliance with the regulations that apply where you are.

Those regulations vary by jurisdiction and can change. Determining what applies to you is your responsibility, not ours, and we cannot advise on it. What we can do is make sure that what arrives is exactly what the certificate says it is — which is the part of the problem that is genuinely ours to solve.
