NAD+
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide
The oxidised cofactor itself, not a precursor. Supplied at ≥ 99 % with residual nicotinamide reported, because hydrolysis is the failure mode that matters here.

About NAD+
NAD+ is a dinucleotide cofactor central to redox metabolism and the obligatory substrate for the sirtuin and PARP enzyme families. Unlike the precursors that dominate the consumer market, this is the cofactor in its active oxidised form, which is what cell-free enzymatic assays actually require.
The quality problem specific to NAD+ is hydrolysis. The glycosidic bond degrades to nicotinamide and ADP-ribose on exposure to moisture, heat or alkaline pH, and a partially hydrolysed lot assays as a weaker cofactor while looking fine to casual inspection. Nicotinamide is also a direct sirtuin inhibitor, so a hydrolysed lot does not merely underperform — it actively confounds sirtuin work. We report residual nicotinamide as a separate line on the certificate and ship with desiccant and a cold pack as standard.

Handling and reconstitution
Prepare fresh. Aqueous NAD+ hydrolyses measurably within days even refrigerated, and the hydrolysis product inhibits sirtuins.
Storage: -20 °C, desiccated. Hygroscopic — reseal immediately after opening.

Questions about this compound
Nicotinamide is a direct sirtuin inhibitor. A lot with elevated residual nicotinamide will not just give you less cofactor, it will actively suppress the enzyme activity you are trying to measure. We report it as a distinct assay line rather than folding it into a single purity number.
