About P21
P21 is a peptidomimetic corresponding to an active region of ciliary neurotrophic factor. CNTF itself is a 200-residue protein with genuine neurotrophic activity and no practical route into the central nervous system, so the strategy is to identify the minimal active motif and rebuild it as something small enough to cross the barrier. P21 is the result, with adamantylated and other non-natural modifications improving both stability and permeability.
The published work concerns neurogenesis, dendritic complexity and tau phosphorylation in ageing and neurodegeneration models. It is comparatively niche — the literature is smaller than for Semax or Dihexa — and we stock it because researchers working in that specific area cannot easily source it elsewhere with a certificate attached.
