Sermorelin is GHRH(1-29) with a C-terminal amide, the shortest fragment of growth hormone releasing hormone that retains the full biological activity of the 44-residue parent. That fact — that residues 30 through 44 are dispensable for receptor activation — is a foundational structure-function result in the field, and it is why every modified GHRH analogue in this category is built on the 1-29 scaffold.
Because it is unmodified, sermorelin degrades quickly: DPP-4 cleaves between residues 2 and 3 with a plasma half-life of minutes. For most experimental purposes that is a limitation, but for work that needs a well-characterised, minimally-engineered reference against which to compare modified analogues, unmodified is exactly the point. We stock it primarily as a comparator.
Use within 7 days of reconstitution at 2–8 °C. This is the least stable peptide in the growth category and the label reflects that honestly.
Storage: -20 °C lyophilised. Reconstituted material degrades faster than modified analogues — use promptly.
